Tico Tales is a bi-lingual musical adaptation of traditional Costa Rican folk tales. The creative team, Michael Sgouros and Brenda Bell, who have written 8 original musicals together, and Director Darren Lee Cole, chose this Christmas show after bringing their production of “A Christmas Carol” to Costa Rica last December.
Inspired by the beauty of the nature, the warmth of the Costa Rican people, and the natural rhythms of thecommunity, Sgouros and Bell returned to New York eager to create a theatre piece that embodies this rich culture.

Hear the call of the beautiful Quetzal bird, stamp your foot to a drumming tale anddelight in a traditional tribal dance with “little devils” and the Indian Princess Cira.
