Just last Friday, the count stood at 544 murders – a stark increase of 162 compared to the same duration last year. Specifically, Guanacaste’s numbers are alarming, with violent crimes jumping from 36 the previous year to 57 now. Among the victims, the most recent was Henry Esteban Mora Duarte, a 35-year-old found with gunshot wounds.
