Nicaragua Travel News – For many of you either travelling to Nicaragua for vacation or perhaps making your 90 day VISA run to Nicaragua from Costa Rica, you might be looking for a place to stay in Granada. Granada is the historic district of Nicaragua and a must-see on your list of places to visit in Central America. When you make it there, I suggest that you stay at a quaint hotel called Hotel Casa San Francisco. It’s in the heart of the city, yet in a secure location.
It was opened in 2004 so everything still looks new. Two sisters, Terry Leary and Nancy Bergman fell in love with the city and this home that used to be that of a prominent local family. Nancy designed and renovated it while Terry was working oversees and collecting artifacts to display in the hotel.
The ambiance is attractive and the decorative gardens are abundant. You will be greeted by bilingual staff who are more than happy to help you. They can give you directions or help you set up a tour, volunteer program, or Spanish lesson.
Free breakfast and a week-long gym membership are included in the nightly rate, which is between $65 and $111. TVs and WIFI internet are also provided, along with a computer for guest use.
It feels like a home. For this reason, many guests return year after year. I enjoyed my stay at Casa San Francisco and I would surely return. It was a refreshing place to come back to with air conditioning and a pool after a few hours in the heat of Granada. It had a sense of privacy, as well, due to individual patios with seating areas.
Special rooms and services are available for wheel-chair bound or differently-abled guests.
There’s a nice roof top area available to host a special event with up to 30 people. Private dinner parties, birthday gatherings, and small weddings have been enjoyed there. The staff would love to help you plan the details of your event.
Take advantage of the new special promotion! If you stay three nights in a row you can get an additional night totally free!
