Costa Rica News – On this day of love and friendship we’d like to feature the story of Juan Gutiérrez, affectionately known as “Juancho.”

He was in a terrible cycling accident back in 2010 in which he lost the ability to move from the chest down.
His arms move with difficulty.
He lost many friends but the true ones stayed and new ones were made, after the accident. Some of them raised money to make him a special wagon that is on bicycle wheels and gets pulled by another cyclist.
What a token of love and friendship to be celebrated this Valentine’s Day.
His family helps him dress in cyclist gear from head to toe just as he used to wear helmet, sneakers and all. His friends come to pick him up and go on adventures to brand new places before returning him home.
Juancho believes that friendship is reflected when someone makes him feel better and fills him with peace and hope. He is glad to report that riding the wagon is “super nice because it’s back on a bike.”
