The stars are neon and glow in the night. They are oranges, reds, blues, yellows and whites. Stars are pure energy, making them into powerful celestial companions. Mortals have admired the holy lights high above us since the begging in of time. The legends of wishes are where everything started. How does one not look into the dark and contemplate? “Snowflake Tears”
Sadness deep like an abyss
You cannot return from it
Tormented with everything I miss
Thoughts like a graceful warrior
No expressions on a baby face
How could you touch a frozen fantasy?
It would burn your hands
Like holding onto icicles
Lonely and cold melodies
Is all that I can hear…
Winter raindrops slowly to the ground
I am catching the snowflakes
From the air…

Bones
The bones of another world lay beneath us. The God’s of the dead walk through them as if they are statues. They are the thrones upon which they sit. The bones are eternal and belong to the Earth. They burn and they char but they never leave here. In the ground the bones sit and dwell holding onto ancient secrets, making sounds like music… The wind howls through…The seasons bury the tune… There is still a voice coming through…A phantom of the past…whispers…bones…stones…why are they everywhere…this stone garden is overtaking us quickly…who can keep the ghosts back?
The Light
We drove up a dark highway only to discover that there was no one there.
Yet, all around us were car headlights, more and more. I could not see the faces of the people driving because of the glare. It had begun to pour down rain now and so it was more blurry on the road. I suddenly felt an overwhelming sense of ease at this as I felt like everything now was fair. There on the highway the lights guide you home but the empty night beckons you away. Where we realized not soon after that the lights had actually been orbs and we were in a cemetery. My dad and mom
pointed up to the sky and said there’s a witch’s finger- it was a pointy cloud.
I was looking up because I always used to lay down in the back of cars at night to watch the stars. We passed a willow tree and my mom said that if you plant one it will grow as big as your waist and then you will die. We passed this on into the blue oaks and we found our way back home. That was when we lived on an old peach orchard when my parents were still together. That is also the home that I had many encounters with spirits and U.F.O.s…Than as a joke when my sister Abby and I would cry, my father would collect our tears in a cup and put them in a freezer and say he was going to drink them later… My Grandmothers Dog When my grandmother’s dog died named Cowboy it was very sad. I loved to spend time with him. He was a black and white sheep herding dog. I knew him since I was a very small child and he seemed even friendlier than.
He died one day he was bitten by a rattlesnake in Lincoln, California.
All night long I had terrible nightmares like death was in the same room as me. The nightmares were of Cowboy with thorns all around him, he had come back from the dead. He was bleeding and his eyes were black with death, it was frightening. I went into my sister Abby’s room and cried at her all night. I told her my nightmares and the next day she told my grandmother. My grandmother had asked Cowboy to be buried somewhere else in the ground and the men who said that they had buried him had lied because my grandmother had gone out and looked in the blackberry bushes, and there he was. Then, after that she stopped talking to me for a bit.
