Former Minister of Health Joselyn Chacón accuses both the second vice president and the interim minister of conspiring against her to get her out of her position while she was on leave grieving the loss of her mother.
She also accuses them of leaking the draft of the decree that intended to change the norms of abortion. Additionally, she speaks of problems in the CCSS on a larger scale, major corruption that she does not want to be part of.
Chacón explains that she entered this Government position with a specific goal and promise of working with the CCSS to save cancer patients but the institution rejected a project meant to eliminate waiting lists for gastroenterology, gastroscopies and colonoscopies.
She sees waiting lists remain the same and patients dying. She does not share the vision of the CCSS and says “seeing what is happening kills me.” She says the reason specialists are going private is because of the level of corruption they see.
