Costa Rica News – Surfing is a way of life in Costa Rica. The lessons learned and friends made can change someone for the better.
Surf for you is a program started by Andrea Diaz to help prevent dropouts from Tamarindo schools.
Andrea was the strongest opponent of Lisbeth Vindas, the multi national surf champion. Her daughter Lia now follows in her footsteps, competing in the National surf circuit in front of Morgan’s Cove.
Andrea supports the local community by providing a surf program in which you must stay in school in order to participate.
You cannot stop studying. She has helped 12 minors move from elementary school to high school successfully.
Jason Torres is one of the students in the program. He participated in the Open category and although he is the former national and pan-American champion he had a hard time and just got by.
He hopes to do better in the finals.
