Costa Rica Surfing – The best of the best will present themselves at the World Open surf contest held by ISA.
It will be in Popoyo, Nicaragua from May 31 to June 7, 2015. Costa Rica hopes to take home first place.
Costa Rica will be represented by Carlos Cali Muñoz, Noe Mar McGonagle, Anthony Fillingim, Jason Torres, Leilani McGonagle, & Lisbeth Vindas. The substitutions are Alberto Muñoz and Emily Gussoni.
There is a goal to match or beat the place gotten 12 months ago in Peru, fourth out of 30 countries.
This shouldn’t be hard to match with McGonagle and Muñoz who are 12th and 16th in the world ranking.
The ticos are well accustomed to the warm water and waves that open both right and left. The team is well off to compete, given the expected conditions that are similar in Costa Rica.
They will leave for the competition on May 27th and we wish them luck.
