Costa Rica News – Costa Rica will have three representatives in the World Boxing Championship to take place in Germany.
They are Antony Solano, Robinson Rodriguez and David “Medallita” Jimenez.
Solano obtained the visa to the World Cup after defeating the Nicaraguan Jeffry Gonzalez by unanimous decision on the last date of the championship. He had never participated in a Continental before.
Robinson Rodriguez battled the Dominican Mario Lavegar. After a hard fight, the victory was won by a split decision. He is just 22 years old and is the coach of the Desamparados boxing team.
Jimenez will be participating for the third time in a World Championship. He took third place in Kazakhstan 2013 and fifth in Qatar 2015.
Now all three athletes will devote themselves to preparing for the World Cup in Germany.
